Containing Nicosulfuron 75% WDG, NARCOWDC is a systemic selective herbicide specifically designed for maize and forage maize. Known for its broad-spectrum weed control, NARCOWDC manages a variety of annual and perennial maize weeds. Its selective nature, stemming from maize’s ability to metabolize nicosulfuron into harmless compounds, ensures it targets unwanted plants without harming the crop itself. The herbicide is absorbed through the leaves and moves via the xylem to the meristematic regions where it disrupts the function of acetolactate synthase—an essential enzyme for cell division and plant growth. Typically, post-emergence application of NARCOWDC starts affecting weed growth within a few hours, with complete eradication occurring within 20–25 days. It is particularly effective against post-emergent weeds including annual and perennial grasses, sedges, and broad-leaved weeds like Sorghum halepense and Agropyron repens.
